Verb of the Week
The verb say is unique in English in that the vowel is pronounced differently in the 3rd person of the present simple. Normally, the 'a' in say is pronounced just the same as the 'a' in 'day' but, in the 3rd person he says, it is pronounced like the e in get. The past and participle forms said also have the e (as in get) pronunciation.

New scoring system
The Verbbusters scoring system has been adapted to give more weight to right answers and less to typing speed.
Under the new system, one point is awarded for each right answer on level one, two points on level two, three on level three and so on. Points are always awarded unless the help buttons are used.
If the cue language is English, one and a half points are awarded on level one, three on level two etc. To compensate, the list of verbs is longer for English: 205 as opposed to 173 for other languages.
Bonus points are awarded for working quickly but the maximum bonus on any level is less than the equivalent of one right answer. So a person with more right answers will always score higher than a person with fewer right answers.
All scores recorded under the old system have been converted to the new system.
